Sustainability at Tradera
Sustainability is in our very core at Tradera. With the mission of Driving the transition to sustainable shopping, it is important to lead by example and to take every measure to reduce our climate footprint.
Let's find out more about this work by listening to Ida Stackenland, Financial & ESG Accountant at Tradera.

What does sustainability mean to us at Tradera – and why is it so important in our daily work?
At Tradera, sustainability is something we live every day. Our business model is built on extending the life of products. The more people who choose second-hand, the lower the demand for new production becomes. That means less waste, fewer emissions, and a responsible way of consuming.
But sustainability goes beyond the environmental aspect. It’s also about people. We believe in building a culture where everyone feels safe, included, and inspired to contribute. To us, that’s just as essential for long-term success.
So how do we put sustainability into practice internally?
Well, we live by the value “Be Sustainable in Every Way”. We conduct annual GHG assessments to measure our climate impact and actively work to reduce it. At internal events we serve sustainable food and beverage. We follow a green travel policy and offset our footprint through verified environmental projects.
We also see social sustainability as a key part of the bigger picture. We aim to be a workplace where sustainability isn’t just visible in our results, but in how we feel, grow, and collaborate.

What do you find most inspiring about working with sustainability at Tradera?
What inspires me the most is the sense of purpose. I genuinely enjoy diving into our different sustainability areas, identifying where we have the biggest impact, and then building strategies that focus exactly there. That means our work isn’t just ambitious – it’s also relevant and actionable.
Last question - can you tell us a bit about “Team Fika”?
It all started with a few of us thinking it would be nice to break up the week with something that brings us together. So, we started a Wednesday fika tradition. It’s nothing fancy, just a nice way to take a break, chat, and enjoy a coffee and something sweet together.
We take turns organizing it, which keeps it varied and personal – sometimes it’s homemade, sometimes it’s from a favorite bakery around the corner. What’s on the table isn’t what matters most – it’s that we do it together and everyone is welcome to join.
